Public Health Facilities Improvements

This proposition authorizes the City of San
Antonio to issue bonds, the proceeds from which will be used to construct,
improve, renovate and equip health facilities available to the general
public. This proposition also will provide for the acquisition of lands and
rights of way necessary to accomplish such purposes. |
Bond Election Terminology Guide
The following acronyms reflect organizations or terms used throughout
this brochure:
LF = Leveraged Funding, meaning that the City anticipates partnering
with one or more non-City entities to share in the cost of completing
the designated project; in such a scenario, the City’s share could be
reduced if the designated project’s scope is modified or its partner
does not produce the full amount of funding promised or expected.

CentroMed Clinic LF $550,000
Construction of a 64,000-square foot community health center at Commercial
between S.W. Military and Loop 410 South, expanding access to primary and
specialty medical, dental, and mental health care and wellness resources for
low-income and uninsured residents. The total cost for this project is
currently estimated to be $15.77 million, with the City’s share expected to
equal approximately 3% of this total.
CommuniCare Health Center LF $250,000
Facility renovations at the Barrio Family Health Center located at 1102
Barclay. The total cost for this project is currently estimated to be $3.5
million, with the City’s share expected to equal approximately 7% of this
total.
