Pet Pantry

ACS operates a food assistance program for pet owners who need a little extra help in hope of keeping pets in their homes rather than being surrendered to the shelter. This program operates solely on donations.

Donations needed for the pet pantry include:

  • Dry or canned dog or cat food, any brand, any size
  • 1-gallon or 2-gallon Ziploc (or similar) bags
  • Cat litter, any brand, any size
  • Dog or cat treats, any brand, any size
  • Flea & tick preventative for dogs and/or cats – any kind
  • Heartworm preventative – any kind
  • Empty cat litter buckets

Donations can be dropped off at the Annex Building during business hours. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 210.207.6644 for more information or if you would like a volunteer to pick up donations from you.

Visit the Pet Pantry for more information.

Mobile Adoptions

Are you interested in having Animal Care Services holding offsite adoptions at your business? This is a great way to draw some attention to your business and get some extra foot traffic while helping to support our shelter. We have an adoption unit that can be set up at your location. This vehicle can bring adoptable animals to your employees and neighborhood community. Our adoption staff and volunteers will be able to make the most out of everyone's time by presenting many more animals in a much more manageable process. If your organization is interested in setting up an off-site adoption event, please call our Adoptions Supervisor at 210.207.6643 or email.

Donate Daily Items

How about helping ACS pets by making a donation of items they need and use on a daily basis?

These items may be purchased during your normal shopping trips or fundraising drive and drop them off at the facility or we can arrange to pick up large items. Either way, the dogs and cats at the facility will definitely appreciate you keeping them in your hearts and on your list of charitable giving. We also thank you for your commitment and support of our community’s four-legged friends.
