AIRCRAFT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

 

Sino-Swearingen Aircraft Company was formed as an international partnership between Sino-Aerospace Investment Corporation of the Republic of China and Swearingen Aircraft, Inc. of San Antonio in January 1995.   The company was incorporated in 1999.   SSAC currently employs over 400 people and maintains approximately 220,000 square feet of facilities in the United States.   The company headquarters and manufacturing/final assembly facility is located at San Antonio International Airport.   A large static test facility is located across the field at Security Air Park on the San Antonio Airport.   Additional main wing and fuselage manufacturing facilities are located at the John D. Rockefeller IV Technology Center on the airport in Martinsburg, West Virginia.   Additionally the company maintains international sales and marketing facilities on the Orange County / John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California.

 

The company develops, designs, FAA certifies and manufactures business, government and military jet aircraft.   The current aircraft under FAA certification is the new SJ30-2 twinjet, with certification expected later this year.
