Commercial Greeting and Transportation This outlines the City?s policy for the greeting of passenger(s) and subsequent transportation by commercial transportation services from the San Antonio International Airport. This policy supercedes the Transportation of Passengers for a fee policy dated September 24, 1987. Section 3-130 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Antonio provides: "No person shall engage in any business or commercial activity of any nature whatsoever on the airport except with the approval of the Aviation Director, and under such terms and conditions as may be set forth in a permit issued by or a contract executed by the City." In accordance with the above cited ordinance, passengers may be greeted and picked up at the airport by a commercial transportation service when prior contracted arrangements have been made between the parties. Proof of contract should be submitted to the Department of Aviation, Airport Operation Supervisor, no later than five (5) days prior to the transportation date. [Fax: (210) 207-3516] The proof of prearrangement should name the individuals and/or group who will be transported and the applicable dates and times. Either all members of a group must be transported, or a manifest of specific individuals to be transported must be supplied in order to provide greeting services. When circumstances preclude the provision of five days advance notice, such notice should be delivered to the curbside Airport Operations Agent, given by telephone at 207-3423, or by Fax at 207-3516 as soon as possible prior to the scheduled pick up at the airport. Under these circumstances, a copy of the contract should be submitted to the Airport Operations Supervisor?s office no later than one (1) day prior to the date on which the pick-up occurs. Representatives of commercial ground transportation companies who are in compliance with the above stated policy will be allowed to greet passengers in the terminal buildings and, if desired, hold a sign not exceeding two feet in width and one foot in height which identifies the person or group to be transported. Representatives may greet their customers in the baggage claim area of both terminals. However, the welcome booths will not be available for commercial ground transportation purposes. Commercial ground transportation companies who do not meet the above criteria will not be permitted to perform greeting functions at the airport. |
