SAN ANTONIO, TX ─ (April 19, 2017) – The Neighborhood Empowerment Action Team (N.E.A.T.) Sweep Program is intended to be a 30-day concentration of City services from April 20– May 20, 2017 in a targeted Eastside area. This program focuses on bringing coordinated services that will result in a safer, cleaner and healthier community. The targeted neighborhoods for this year’s N.E.A.T Sweep are Denver Heights and Alamodome Gardens.
For the duration of the N.E.A.T. Sweep, an information center will be located at the Davis Scott YMCA at 1213 Iowa St. near Pittman‐Sullivan Park; Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This location will serve as a central location where residents can inquire about the services and improvements being provided. Information will be provided in both English and Spanish.
The services and improvements that will be provided include:
Replace broken lights and ensuring light is up to code.
Junk car removal, graffiti abatement, vacant lot clean‐ups, front yard parking and enforcement of the property maintenance code.
Target drug hotspots, officers walking on foot patrol, bike patrol, and extra community policing efforts.
Install smoke detectors and performing fire and safety inspections.
Animal Care Services
Impound loose pets, hosting a micro chipping mobile clinic on April 20th 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
TCI Street Maintenance & Storm Water
Pothole repairs, street sweeping, street repairs, vegetation control, and recommend areas for additional repairs, drain cleaning and tree maintenance.
Solid Waste Management
Providing a dial-a-trailer and mitigating illegal dumping areas.
Providing a mobile immunization clinic at the Davis Scott YMCA on April 20th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Human Resources and Department of Human Services
Conducting employment workshops May 2nd, 9th, and 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A City of San Antonio job application hub will also be available at the Davis Scott YMCA.
Department of Planning and Community Development
Housing programs information and assistance.
Eastside Education and Training Center
Information on upcoming job training classes, career assistance, and job placement opportunities.
Denver Heights and Alamodome Gardens will be able to dispose of bulky waste on dial-a‐trailers on May 13th.

Sweep targets historical problems the community face and gives residents the opportunities to fight back.
