SAN ANTONIO, TX ─ (July 13, 2017) – Airlines operating at San Antonio International Airport released May traffic reports and the statistics continue to be a reflection of the growth in our region. More than 777, 000 passengers  traveled through SAT, a 3% increase for  May. That also represents a 4.0% increase in the year to date traffic of more than 3,500,000 passengers.  This is the highest level of traffic for the month of May on record.

Domestic traffic for the month increased by 3.3% compared to May 2016. “This change can be attributed to the increase in air capacity by most of our domestic carriers as well as new routes by Frontier and Southwest,” said Russ Handy Aviation Director for the City of San Antonio.

More than 20,000,000 pounds of cargo moved through SAT in May an increase of more than 9%.

SAT has recorded positive numbers in twelve of the past thirteen months.
