SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 18, 2017) –
On Oct. 11, 2017, Mayor Ron Nirenberg published an Open Letter to Amazon stating San Antonio’s intent to not submit a bid for their new headquarters. Councilman Greg Brockhouse has written the attached rebuttal, with the following quote:

“It has been a week since the Mayor withdrew San Antonio from the Amazon bid process and the City Council has still not discussed or fully vetted the decision. Yesterday, the Express-News published a Moody’s evaluation that demonstrated potential viability for a regional bid submission. Additionally, there is competing messaging from the Economic Development Foundation director that a bid is still possible. The bottom line is we must be transparent and inclusive of the entire City Council and key stakeholders in everything we do. We must do better and I wanted to write a competing Open Letter to let San Antonio residents know we will never sell San Antonio short and there are many who believe this was a missed opportunity.”
