SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 22, 2017) — Mayor Ron Nirenberg is calling on San Antonio residents interested in contributing to the development of the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, called SA Climate Ready, to submit an application for the steering committee or technical working groups. The City of San Antonio opened the nomination process today and will accept applications through January 12.
“Being climate ready means playing our part in helping reduce the impacts of climate change while preparing our citizens, businesses, institutions and infrastructure for the inevitable changes that will impact our community,” said Mayor Nirenberg. “We are looking for passionate community members willing to work collaboratively with others to produce a model plan.”
Selections will be made the week of Jan. 15 and the first meetings will be held in early February 2018. The plan is expected to take 18 months to develop and participation on the committees will require a significant time commitment.
