Houston Street from AT&T Center Parkway to Commerce Street will be detoured on Friday, May 23 beginning at 8 am. The detour was coordinated with the AT&T Center so no game day activities would be disrupted. It will last until 8 pm.
Drivers will use Coca-Cola Drive and Commerce Street as a detour route. Law enforcement officers will be in place at guide traffic at those streets where they intersect with Houston Street. AT&T Center Parkway will remain open and drivers headed south on the parkway will be able to turn right onto Houston Street. The attached map shows the detour route.
Construction crews will set bridge beams during the work period. The Houston Street project will use approximately $10 million to reconstruct Houston Street from AT&T Center Parkway to Commerce Street. The bridge over Salado Creek will be raised and new traffic signals and sidewalks will be installed.
