Councilwoman Ivy R. Taylor will host a follow up community meeting to discuss redevelopment of the Red Berry Estate on Saturday, Dec. 1,
at the Red Berry Estate, 856 Gembler Road, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The first Red Berry meeting was held on Nov. 3. Residents provided feedback and offered suggestions of the vision of the estate. Some ideas included the possibility of a mixed use development including housing, retail, an events center and hotel.
The Red Berry Estate includes the 14,300 square foot Red Berry Mansion with a manmade lake, pecan tree grove and acres of vacant land. The estate is adjacent to the Willow Springs Golf Course and the Salado Creek Bike Trail. The City will develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) based on the community input and direction.
