Career

Frederick P. Garcia Jr. was appointed Municipal Court Clerk in July 2006. As Municipal Court Clerk, he directs and coordinates the administrative functions relating to the overall operation of Municipal Court in accordance with State laws and City ordinances. Mr. Garcia supervises the activities of 211 employees in a department that includes a 24-hour detention and magistration facility utilized by all law enforcement agencies in Bexar County. He oversees an expense budget of $12 million and manages the collection of over $20 million in fines and fees.

Mr. Garcia is a licensed attorney and has served in private practice for more than 19 years. His areas of practice included criminal, juvenile and family law. He served as an Assistant City Attorney in San Antonio in 1989 and 1990.
