Development Services Department supports various boards and commissions that direct and review issues on land development and construction code regulations. Each board and commission holds regular meetings at the Development Services offices located at 1901 S. Alamo. We work with the following five boards and commissions:
The Planning Commission advises City Council on the master plan amendments and the Unified Development Code.
The Board of Adjustment hears and considers appeals and requests for exceptions and variances to City Ordinances.
The Building Standards Board hears and rules on violations of the San Antonio Property Maintenance Code and Dangerous Structures.
The Building-Related and Fire Codes Appeals and Advisory Board reviews and rules on decisions made by the Building Official or Fire Chief relating to specific articles of the City Codes.
The Zoning Commission holds public hearings and makes recommendations to City Council on zoning change requests.
