Tickets are now available for the City's 2014 Green Building Awards, an annual event that celebrates building professionals and owners who have made significant strides in improving the performance of their buildings and specific construction projects. Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 200 E. Market Street in the Lonesome Dove Room. Tickets are $75 for individuals or $750 for a table of ten and can be purchased at www.sanantonio.gov/sustainability. Registration and payments for the event must be received by Thursday, June 12, 2012.
The awards will feature categories for new construction and retrofit projects, in both residential and commercial construction. Previous winners have included Lake|Flato Architects, Alamo Heights Independent School District, Rinconcito de Esperanza, and others.
In addition, coinciding with the Department of Energy’s designation of San Antonio as a “Solar America City,” the Bill Sinkin Solar Award will be given to a nominee who has made significant contributions in solar energy. The event will include a special commemoration to honor Sinkin’s contributions to the community.
