Councilwoman Ivy R. Taylor in partnership with Voices for Children San Antonio, Family Services Association and St. Philip's College Early Childhood and Family Studies Program will host an Early Childhood Training and Resource Fair on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at St. Philip's College in the Heritage Room, 1801 Martin Luther King Drive, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
"Many of our children do not have access to quality early childhood education," Councilwoman Taylor says. "If we want them to be successful in school, it is imperative that our young children are equipped with a solid foundation. As an adult caregiver, it is crucial that we provide this stable foundation."
Early Childhood caregivers that work at child care centers and homes are encouraged to participate in this free training event and resource fair in an effort to gain knowledge, skills and tools to provide young children with appropriate developmental opportunities that will help them grow and mature into successful students and proactive adults. The Early Childhood Training and Resource Fair will provide caregivers with 15 sessions they can choose from, as well as three 90-minute workshop sessions.
