San Antonio International Airport is transitioning to a new Parking Revenue Control System (PRCS), automating and giving customers the ability to process their parking transactions quicker and find parking spaces easier. The new system will be phased in over the next few weeks and is scheduled for completion in advance of the busy holiday travel season. Airport officials are in the process of installing the new state‐of‐the‐art hardware and software that offers added convenience and benefits to the customers utilizing the airport for their parking needs. Visitors will be able to view parking availability onsite as well as on the Airport’s website in real time.
Passenger can expect to see the following parking improvements at SAT in the next couple of weeks:
- Credit Card Only Lanes: Visitors
paying by credit card will be able to exit through any unattended lanes.
Transactions processed through this method only take a few seconds and do not
require patron signature.
- Ticketless Options: By swiping the
same credit card they used upon entering, visitors will have the opportunity to
experience even faster transactions times. This ticketless method eliminates
having to keep track of a parking ticket while away on travel and assist in
reducing wait time at exit. Another benefit of the ticketless option is that
waste disposal of the paper parking tickets is eliminated.
- Parking Space Count System: With
the system, sensors located at the airport, will allow for the new system to
count vehicles entering and exiting facilities so visitors will be able to see
how many spaces are available on each level as they enter the parking facility.
Parking Data: The new PRCS system will be integrate with the Airport website,
allowing for passengers to view parking availability online and via mobile
