The City of San Antonio is currently accepting applications from residents in all City Council districts who are eligible to serve on the newly-created SA2020 Commission on Strengthening Family Well-Being. The commission is comprised of 11 members selected by City Council and the Mayor. Each appointed member will serve a two-year term and may be re-appointed to serve one additional two-year term.

The commission will establish yearly work plans and present recommendations, complete assessments of community safety net services, and advocate for the responsible funding of existing and future services to ensure continual improvement in the areas of reducing poverty, reducing teen births, reducing homelessness, reducing domestic violence, and strengthening community support for social services.
