The City’s Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) wants to encourage all San Antonio residents to recycle their live Christmas trees after the holidays. On Jan. 12 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. residents can drop off their fresh-cut trees at one of 20 locations across the city to be recycled. While visiting the drop-off site, residents will also be able to pick up fine mulch on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.
If a resident is unable to attend one of the sites, they may recycle their Christmas tree at the Bitters Brush Recycling Facility, 1800 Bitters Road, or the Nelsons Garden Brush Recycling Facility, 8963 Nelson Road, through the end of January during regular business hours.
For more information and a list of the drop-off sites, visit the Solid Waste Management website.
