The Office of the City Clerk, Vital Records Division, will be open as part of the City’s participation in U.S. Passport Day on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Citizens who were born in San Antonio can obtain the required birth certificate to apply for a U.S. passport during Passport Day.
Passport Day provides individuals an opportunity to apply for a passport on a Saturday. Individuals interested in applying for a passport may make an appointment or appear on a walk-in basis. Passport Day will take place at the Municipal Archives and Records Facility, 719 S. Santa Rosa, next door to the Vital Records Division. The facility offers passport photographs at an additional cost and also provides free parking.
Each certified copy of a birth certificate costs $23 and is payable by cash, check, money order, debit card or credit card. To purchase a birth certificate, individuals will need to provide the following original documents:
- For Self: Picture identification from a governmental entity.
- For A Parent: Picture identification from a governmental entity. The parent’s name must be listed on birth certificate.
- For A Spouse: Picture identification from a governmental entity and a marriage certificate.
