Library patrons can get the most popular titles and bestsellers without waiting thanks to a new pilot program called Express Collections, which refers to new arrival and hot topic book collections that are at branch libraries. San Antonio Public Library Express Collections are made up of popular book and media titles that are currently in high demand. These items can be checked out for seven days and cannot be put on hold or renewed, so they are more likely to be available. Shorter check out time means faster availability than the normal 21-day check out period for other media. Over the last few months, the concept was introduced at several branches and is expected to expand system-wide in the next fiscal year.
Express Collections are currently available at Bazan, Central, Great Northwest, Johnston, Memorial, Mission, Tobin at Oakwell, Semmes, Parman at Stone Oak and Thousand Oaks libraries.
