The City of San Antonio outlined a comprehensive city-wide cleanup and repair plan targeting all areas in the city damaged and/or impacted by high-water flooding during the storm event on Saturday, May 25, 2013.
A Flood Damage Assessment and Repair Schedule has been compiled, along with a detailed work schedule. The Assessment & Schedule captures cleanup and repair needs for streets, debris removal, cleaning of drainage facilities, alleys and park facilities. This work plan will provide residents an opportunity to see when Public Works, Solid Waste, Parks & Recreation and other City crews will be mobilizing in their affected areas to repair damages caused by the flood event. The Flood Damage Assessment and Repair Schedule is available for public access and review on the Department of Public Works’ website: sanantonio.gov/publicworks. The City’s main website at sanantonio.gov also has a link to the report listed on the Public Works’ website.
City crews have been redirected from normal operations to focus on addressing damages caused by the flood event to ensure quick responses to all service requests. San Antonio residents who discover new flood damage in and around their neighborhoods should continue to report damage to the City by calling 3-1-1. The City requests that residents allow Public Works, Solid Waste, Parks & Recreation and other City response teams time to address their impacted areas and not to attempt any street repairs or major cleanup beyond their homes as a safety precaution.
