The Oral Health Initiative Project
The primary goal of the project is to improve access to dental care for PCI enrollees and their families through the implementation of a fluoride varnish program.
Oral health professionals assist families to access additional dental services and, ultimately, establish a dental home. During the school year each of the 6,789 enrollees receive a dental screening and two applications of fluoride varnish in Head Start centers throughout Bexar County. Oral health data is collected for each child during the screening process. Click here for report.
