Bexar County Food Establishments

How to Get a County Food Establisment License:

To get a County Food Establishment license, first build or obtain a commercial kitchen site (you can NOT prepare food for sale in your residential kitchen per State TFER Health Code), then get your establishment construction plans reviewed and an inspection from Bexar County Fire Marshal (210) 335-0300 and Bexar County Public Works (210) 335-6700

Once you pass those inspections, call Metro Health at 207-0135 or go to the Development and Business Services Center (DBSC) at 1901 S. Alamo and ask the Metro Health clerk for assistance.  We will schedule a health inspection.  Once you pass, you can return to the DBSC, pay the County License fee, and obtain your license to run a County Food Establishment.
