Metro Health Launches Dynamic New Website Design

User-friendly and design-enhanced site maintains current home at www.sanantonio.gov/health

Metro Health today unveiled a new website design with a fresh and modern layout and customer service driven features. The site, www.sanantonio.gov/health, has been reorganized to improve the experience of an electronic visit to the department and is now a simple and efficient navigation search tool for public health information.

Redesign of the website transformed it from a basic informative site to a more dynamic and organized look of public health information. Some of the new enhancements include:

Reorganized page layouts that require less scrolling
User-friendly accessibility and improved site navigation icons
Real-time ticker line with public health emergency information, when necessary
Scrolling ticker line of upcoming events
Quick links for the department’s most visited service areas
Featured areas for business, family and community needs
Coordinated areas for specialized information such as family health, news releases, and other topics

Site visitors can still access frequently requested information such as permits and licenses, immunization information, birth and death certificates, public health emergency preparedness tips, and other vital information on programs and services.

“The website represents an important communication outlet for the health department in today’s society. The page layouts are visually pleasing, functional and user-friendly. Our online and culturally diverse community will benefit from the site because it was designed with the people we serve in mind,” said Assistant Director Bryan Alsip. “As we move forward with technological enhancements, the site will continue to evolve and incorporate new customer service functions.”
