Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Project (HKHC)

This project, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, will increase the opportunities for physical activity and access to healthy foods for children and families in San Antonio’s Westside and throughout the community.

Interventions focus on policy, environmental and systems changes that include

  • prioritized green space improvements for increased community physical activity,
  • implementing Healthy Hubs community development concept,
  • promoting voluntary implementation of healthier restaurant options as well as healthier options at local corner stores
