The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, in collaboration with Trinity University will host a conference on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for interested stakeholders at Trinity University’s Stieren Theater on Aug. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. to address the changes to healthcare propelled by ACA.
Metro Health aims to present, in a non-partisan way, the essential content of the ACA and how it will impact San Antonio’s residents, providers and businesses. Anne Dunkelberg with the Center for Public Policy Priorities, a non-partisan independent research organization focused on evaluating public policy as it affects low- and moderate-income Texans, will present an “ACA 101” presentation during the plenary session. This session will focus on the essential health benefits, new industry regulations and consumer protections, among other topics.
Other speakers include Courtney Watson with the Children’s Defense Fund who will discuss impacts of the law on small businesses and Dr. Robert Morrow, Senior Medical Director with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas will present the latest information on health insurance exchanges.
