San Antonio has gained more than 55,000 jobs in the past four years. The city has played an important role in this employment surge, working with businesses to create nearly 8,000 jobs since 2009.
A few of the businesses the city has partnered with are HVHC, an optical company headquartered downtown with plans to open a manufacturing and distribution center here; OCI Solar Power, which signed a deal with CPS to provide 400 megawatts of solar energy; and Toyota, which currently employs more than 2,000 workers at its San Antonio manufacturing plant.
