City of San Antonio Launches Newly Designed Website
More Efficient Navigation and Greater Functionality Key Additions

The City has launched the first phase of its newly redesigned website, www.sanantonio.gov, which is more user-friendly and easier to navigate.

The most noticeable change to the City's website is its new visual design. The new design has been applied to the City's home page, Residents, Visitors, Business, and Government home pages. The web-pages have been developed to be more user-focused with subject-based categorization of information. Departmental web-pages have been designed to highlight content that feature key initiatives and programs.

"Our goal is to make the City of San Antonio website a more valuable resource for the public," said Sheryl Sculley, City Manager. "We want to ensure that visitors to our website can access the information they need as quickly and easily as possible."

In addition, through the City's home page, visitors to the website can now sign up for the City's community newsletter, Dot Gov; access the City's calendar of events; find emergency numbers and 3-1-1 quickly; and learn interesting factoids about the San Antonio community and its history.

The members of the SA2020 Civic Engagement/Government Accountability Committee contributed valuable ideas to the redesign of the City's new website, and provided helpful feedback on its creative concept.

Throughout 2012, the City will continue converting web-pages to the new web design, as well as implementing improvements to the website's overall global navigation.
