SAN ANTONIO (September 11, 2017)  Aspiring dancers who are interested in furthering their career and gaining experience performing in front of live audiences are invited to audition for one of the Parks and Recreation Department’s two dance troupes, Fandango and Alamotion.

The department’s dance troupe programs fill two important needs for the community. They provide public performance opportunities and experiences for young dancers who want to take their talents to a semi-professional level and also enhance the City's tourism efforts with diverse cultural shows, many performed with live music. The troupes will showcase talents performing throughout the City, including ¡BRAVO!  which features the Parks and Recreation Department’s Fandango and Alamotion Dance Troupes accompanied by the City’s Take Note Youth Band.

Alamotion, which highlights ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop, is looking for dancers, ages 11 to 19, with two years of experience in the majority of these dance forms. Fandango, which focuses on Mexican Folklorico and Flamenco dance forms, is looking for dancers, ages 11 to 19, with at least two years of experience.
