Park Safety & Rules

Hours of Operation

The majority of City of San Antonio parks are open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. under an ordinance that established a park curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Parks not subject to the curfew or that have different hours of operation include the Salado and Leon Creek greenways, Natural Area parks, River Walk, Alamo Plaza, La Villita, Market Square, HemisFair Park and Woodlawn Lake Park.

Section 22-28 E of the City code states that parks developed as part of the Linear Creekway Parks development program, including on Leon Creek, Salado Creek and Medina River, shall be closed for all purposes each day at sunset and will reopen each day at sunrise.

Exceptions to the curfew for special events may be made. For information on special event permits, visit the Reservations and Permits page.
