Skate Parks

Whether you're an avid skateboarder who knows all the latest tricks or just a beginner, the Parks and Recreation Department offers plenty of opportunities for you to work those muscles and burn calories at its skate plazas.

The premier location is Lady Bird Johnson Park's skate facility. It features a 7,000 square-foot skate bowl ranging from five to nine feet deep, an 1,800 square foot deck with a five-foot quarter ramp and a five-foot bun pyramid.

The plazas are unstaffed, free, and open to the public during park hours, which are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not all parks have  lighting available. *Pictured at left, local skateboarder Bobby Halstead at Palo Alto Park Skate Plaza.
