Invasive Weeds Pulling at Eisenhower Park
8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Malta star thistle (Centaurea melitensis) is an exotic invasive plant that can compete with and exclude our native vegetation. At Eisenhower Park, it is slowly making its way from the parking lot up some of our trails. Eisenhower is a unique park with rare and uncommon plants unique to this area. Please come out and help us fight this invasion and maintain the unique diversity of this great park. We will meet in the parking lot located at 19399 NW Military Highway and work our way up Cedar Flats Trail where we will hand pull and bag the thistle. If we have time we will also trim back vegetation in the parking lot islands. Interested? Contact Wendy Leonard 207-3292 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to confirm a reservation.
