FILING POLICE REPORTS

Persons needing to file a Police Report
or Request City Services have the following options:
Filing Police Reports by Phone Calling 911 (Emergencies Only)
Filing Police Reports On-Line Filing Police Reports at SAPD Substations
Calling 311 to Request City Services City Service Requests On-Line

FILING POLICE REPORTS BY PHONE
Persons who need to file a Police Report but do not need to have an officer dispatched to their location, can file that report by PHONE by calling the SAPD NON-EMERGENCY number, 207-7273 (area code 210).
For filing reports of crimes that have occurred more than 30 minutes in the past, where the perpetrator is gone, or where there was no personal injury, call-takers will have a Report Expeditor call you back who will take your information on the phone, enter it into the computer, and assign a case number.

CALLING 911
Persons who need to have a police officer dispatched to their location immediatly, due to an emergency situation, should call the San Antonio Police Department using "911".
* Call "911" if it is an EMERGENCY, if someone is injured, or if a crime is still in progress.
* For NON-EMERGENCY situations, please use 207-7273 (area code 210) to call the police, and ask that an officer be dispatched to your location, if needed.

FILING POLICE REPORTS AT A SAPD SUBSTATION
Persons who wish to file a Police Report without an officer dispatched, but do not have a Computer with E-Mail, can go to any SAPD Substation and obtain a Police Self-Report Form, fill it out, and return it to the Police Service Agent at the Desk. The Service Agent will obtain a Case Number and provide it to you at the time you turn in the report.

FILING POLICE REPORTS ON-LINE :
Persons who wish to file a police report on certain SELECTED CRIMES (see list below) may file that report On-Line. A police officer will NOT be dispatched to your location.
Reports filed On-Line MUST include contact information (your phone number and your e-mail address), or the report will NOT be accepted.
Once the report is received, a report-taker will contact you by e-mail and provide you with your Case Number. It may be 48-72 hours before you are contacted.

PLEASE REVIEW THE CRIME DESCRIPTION GUIDE TO SELECT THE TYPE OF CRIME YOU NEED TO REPORT, THEN GO TO THE ON-LINE REPORTING FORM.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Knowlingly submitting a false Crime Report is a misdemeanor under Texas State Law (Penal Code 37.08).
"Don't Even THINK about it!"

REQUESTING CITY SERVICES: CALLING 311
Persons who need to request City Services can do so by PHONE or ON-LINE.
These services include Public Works (Pot Holes, Traffic Signals out, etc.), Environmental Services (Brush collection, Recycle Bin requests), and Code Compliance (Animal Control, Illegal Dumping, Junked Vehicles, Dangerous Premises, etc.).
To request City Services by phone within San Antonio you may call "311".
