Runway 12R– 30L Closed for Construction
April 2, 2014 (San Antonio) – A major repair project on Runway 12R – 30L started at San Antonio International, with an anticipated 90‐day construction period. The closure requires a temporary change in flight patterns during that will bring more planes than usual over certain neighborhoods.
Major components of the project include:
A surface dip located 1,000 feet east of Runway 12R threshold will be repaired
A surface repair to Runway 30L between Taxiways Delta and November will be repaired
New construction of a new Taxiway Whiskey will be completed
Runways 4‐22 and 12L‐30R will remain open
Taxiways Delta, Alpha, Sierra and November will be utilized for crossing Runway 12R‐30L during the closure
Weather permitting, the work on Runway 12L‐30L will be completed in late June/early July.

Terminal A Update Complete in SUMMER 2014
SAT ’s Terminal A is undergoing a comprehensive renovation project with a scheduled substantial completion in April 2014. The update to the nearly
30-year old facility provides for new finishes, infrastructure and wayfinding that are consistent with Terminal B. A phased construction schedule maintains amenities and service levels, limiting potential inconvenience to airport customers.
When complete, all restrooms in the terminal’s concourse will be completely renovated And both terminals will have complementary finishes and furniture
with an updated aesthetic throughout. Elevators will be modernized, while escalators will be completely replaced. Additional infrastructure upgrades to the air conditioning and sprinkler system will also be performed as part of this overall $24 million renovation project.
