Internal Streets Project - Water & E. Nueva:
Cesar Chavez will be partially closed from Friday, February 13 at 8:00 p.m. to Tuesday, February 17 at 6:00 a.m.
Westbound traffic (toward S. Alamo) will have one lane available.
Eastbound traffic (toward IH 37) will detour by taking a left on S. Alamo and a right on Market to reach IH 37 or Cesar Chavez.
The closure will allow crews to work on drainage for the Internal Streets Project.
Construction began on January 20.
Construction is anticipated to last through May 2016.
Emergency Service Drive Project:
Historic Homes Stabilization & Rehabilitation Project:
Construction began in November 2014.
Completion is anticipated in mid-summer 2015.
Yanaguana Park Project:
Work for manholes, borings and demolition are complete.
Work on site utilities, water play feature and additional pergola footings will begin the week of January 20.
Tenant Access during construction:
The site is fenced with limited access to ensure safety during construction.
Only existing tenants may use any of the gates to access the area.
The wooden play structure/playground area is closed during construction.

In two phases, construct and reconfigure Tower of the Americas Way, Water Street and E. Nueva Street within the Hemisfair area. Bicycle and pedestrian connectivity will be included as appropriate. Phase I will encompass Tower of the Americas Way and Phase II will encompass Water and E. Nueva Streets.

Historic Homes located within Hemisfair will be stabilized and rehabilitated. Five homes will be stabilized and their exteriors will be rehabilitated. These homes include: Kampmann, Pereida, Koehler, Espinoza and Amaya. An additional five homes will be stabilized. These homes are: Sweeney, Schultze, Halff, Acosta and Smith.
Phase II of the Historic Homes project will rehabilitate the exteriors of the 5 homes that underwent stabilization only as part of Phase I.
Hemisfair will feature more improvements in the future: Magik Theatre renovations, a Civic Park Construction and Historic Homes Renovations Phase II. These projects are currently under design. Design plans will be unveiled at a later date and fundraising to make these projects a reality will begin. Learn more about the vision for Hemisfair.
