Updates for  November 2017

The City of San Antonio and Jordan Foster will be closing southbound Main Avenue on Thursday November 30th from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in the morning. This closure is required to complete the SAWS water work.

Message boards are in place announcing the closure and a vehicular detour will be signed and barricaded.

For Southbound traffic drivers will be detoured from Main Ave. to Elmira St. and proceed south to S. Flores. Detour Below:

 

San Pedro Avenue closed for Main, Navarro & San Pedro Roundabout Construction:

San Pedro Avenue between Quincy Avenue and Main Street will be closed beginning January 30, 2017 for the construction of the Main, Navarro & San Pedro Roundabout project. The roundabout project is part of the 2012-2017 Bond Program Downtown Streets Reconstruction Project. The San Pedro closure will remain until the summer of 2017 and will be followed by other lane closures on Main and Navarro.

The Main, Navarro & San Pedro Roundabout project includes full reconstruction of the intersection of San Pedro Avenue and N. Main Avenue, which is a 5-leg intersection, two of the legs being on N. Main and the other three on San Pedro, Camden, and Navarro. The reconstruction will include raised medians, 10’ shared use paths to improve bicycle and pedestrian connectivity, curbs and gutters, reconstruction of existing driveway approaches, landscaping, pedestrian lighting and other amenities. In addition, this project will include a public art component.

BACKGROUND

The Main, Navarro & San Pedro Roundabout project is part of the 2012-2017 Bond Program Downtown Streets Reconstruction Project.
