Beginning December 27th through December 30th from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Main Ave. from Quincy to Camden will be closed to construct SAWS work on Main Ave. The work being performed will be done during the evening hours only.
Message boards are in place announcing the closure and a vehicular detour will be signed and barricaded.
For Southbound traffic drivers will be detoured from Main Ave. to Elmira St. and proceed south to S. Flores.
For Northbound traffic drivers will be detoured from Soledad and Navarro Street to Camden to Lexington to Elmira.
The Main, Navarro & San Pedro Roundabout project includes full reconstruction of the intersection of San Pedro Avenue and N. Main Avenue, which is a 5-leg intersection, two of the legs being on N. Main and the other three on San Pedro, Camden, and Navarro. The reconstruction will include raised medians, 10’ shared use paths to improve bicycle and pedestrian connectivity, curbs and gutters, reconstruction of existing driveway approaches, landscaping, pedestrian lighting and other amenities. In addition, this project will include a public art component.
The Main, Navarro & San Pedro Roundabout project is part of the 2012-2017 Bond Program Downtown Streets Reconstruction Project.
