Planned Scope: 1) Contractor to perform pavement milling at the intersection of S. Alamo Street and Guenther Street. Contractor will then install final lift of asphalt. Status: Upcoming 2) Contractor to install landscaping along south side sidewalk from Blue Star driveway to Probandt Street. Status: Upcoming


Planned Scope: SAWS contractor completed the sewer siphon project under the San Antonio River on September 17, 2014.

CPS Energy

Planned Scope: 1) CPS Energy's contractor to continue to install the new overhead poles along S. Alamo Street from GuentherStreet to Probandt Street. Only one pole remains to be installed. Status: On-Going 2) Contractor to perform power supply line transfer from the old poles to the new poles. Status: Upcoming 3) Contractor to remove old poles once all telecommunications companies have performed their transfers. Status: Upcoming


Planned Scope: AT&T's contractor will relocate their telecommunications line from the old poles to the new poles once CPS Energy has completed the power line transfer. Status: Upcoming

Project Limits

S. Alamo: from Probandt St. to Pereida St.

Project Scope

The S. Alamo project will improve the street condition and drainage facilities along S. Alamo Street from Probandt Street to Pereida Street. The improvements will alleviate drainage issues along this corridor, improve roadway conditions, and provide enhanced pedestrian facilities. The City of San Antonio's Transportation & Capital Improvements is working in partnership with Bexar County and San Antonio River Authority (SARA).

Improvements include:

  • Roadway reconstruction from existing 4-lane to proposed 3-lane including a center turn lane
  • Improved drainage storm sewer infrastructure
  • Improved wider sidewalks:
    • 4 ft to 12 ft on the south side
    • 4 ft to 6 ft on the north side
  • Improved curb ramps to meet current ADA standards
  • Pedestrian crosswalks
  • Landscaping
  • Utility replacements:
    • SAWS water and sewer replacements including a 12-in water line and a 36-in sewer line under the San Antonio River
    • CPS underground gas main replacement
    • AT&T fiber optic line replacement
