March 11, 2014 S Alamo Street from Pereida to Guenther is now substantially complete and open for traffic. This segment is the majority of the City’s $2.4 M scope of work (total project value is $6.1 M), which has been completed by the City’s contractor, J3 Company, approximately six (6) weeks ahead of schedule. Please note the recently placed asphalt layer within this section is not the final pavement layer. J3 Company will install the final asphalt layer once the remaining scope of work between Guenther and Probandt is complete. The remaining section from Guenther to Probandt will continue to be closed until August to allow SAWS to complete construction of the sewer siphon system under the San Antonio River. Status: Complete

May 2014 Planned Scope: Activity 1: Installation of three sewer pipes (two 24-inch and one 16-inch) and one 12-inch air bypass line situated inside one 54-inch casing and one 60-inch casing under the San Antonio River Status: Contractor has completed the installation of the 54-inch steel casing under the river. Contractor is currently boring a 60-inch steel casing under the river of which, 200 feet has been excavated and installed out of 210 feet. Activity 2: Excavation of Receiving Pit and Installation of Siphon Box. Status: Complete Activity 3: Installation of Water Main along S. Alamo from Probandt St to Blue Star Arts Complex Status: Contractor has completed the installation of the 200 feet of water main and is only pending the tie-ins and services relays.
June 2014 Planned and Completed Scope: Contractor has completed the installation of the 16" sewer main, 12" air line and 24" sewer main under the San Antonio River. Contractor has raised the platform and is starting to fuse the last 24" sewer main and will have it installed in the top 60" casing this weekend. Contractor to grout the mains in the casing and start the transition of pipes up the bore pit and receiving pit.
 July 2014 Planned Scope: The contractor will be completing the installation of all siphon piping and begin to backfill the bore pits on both sides of the San Antonio River. The contractor will begin to excavate and install Siphon Box #1, near INSCO Distributing. The contractor will begin to install the 36" PVC sewer line near Blue Star Arts Complex.
July 18, 2014  Planned Scope: The contractor is completing the installation of all siphon piping and is beginning to backfill the bore pits on both sides of the San Antonio River. The contractor will begin to install the 36" PVC sewer line near Blue Star Arts Complex.
 August 2014 Planned Scope: Contractor has filled the receiving pit (next to Blue Star) with flowable fill to match existing pavement elevation. Contractor will remove 5 remaining plates and I-beams from receiving pit. Contractor has connected two of the four sewer pipes from the bottom casing to the structure. Contractor has two more connections to complete. Contractor to continue removing plates from the entry bore pit (next to INSCO) and has completed 11 out of 28 plates. Contractor has filled the bore pit with flowable fill to 20 feet from existing elevation. 
 September 2014  Planned Scope: 1) SAWS contractor to install COSA's storm drain junction box and 42" pipe to complete the storm drain system next to INSCO. Status: On-Going. 2) Contractor to complete backfilling of the sewer siphon entry and receiving pits. Status: Upcoming. 3) Contractor to perform final clean up. Barricades and detour signs to remain in place during the transition period from SAWS to COSA construction. Status: Upcoming.
