 Our major challenge is
reducing the number of homeless animals and unwanted
litters in our community, and increasing adoptions. Each and every pet owner is being
called on to take responsibility for the fate of our
four-legged friends by immediately (as soon as age
allows) getting them spayed or
neutered, providing
them protective shelter in a home or enclosed yard,
keeping their vaccinations and
ID tags up to date,
and placing them on a leash when in public. With every one of us committing to making San Antonio a more pet-friendly community, we can give our companion animals the care they need. Our actions also will build healthier and stronger neighborhoods as disease and dog bites decrease and neighbors appreciate no longer having their property, pets and peace disturbed by loose animals.
