The San Antonio Area Foundation is a philanthropic organization that matches donors with causes they are passionate about to better the community. The Talk About It! campaign, a bilingual, multi-channel grassroots effort, aims to make San Antonio a No Kill community by promoting spay/neuter, adoption and responsible pet care. The program is a collaboration of the City of San Antonio, Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare (AAPAW), the San Antonio Area Foundation Consortium of Partners and animal welfare organizations.
Animal Care Services is a proud member of AAPAW which strives to improve the lives of dogs and cats in San Antonio via adoption and education efforts as well as promotion of spay/neuter resources.
SpaySA is a grant-funded project bringing spay/neuter and various veterinary services to an underserved portion of the San Antonio metro area. A joint project of the San Antonio Metro Health District, the Animal Defense League, the Veterinary Medical Association of Bexar County, and the San Antonio Humane Society, the center opened on September 30, 1997.
The mission of the San Antonio Humane Society is to serve as an active resource in Bexar County to find homes and provide temporary shelter for abandoned and unwanted animals prevent cruelty to animals, promote the spaying and neutering of dogs and cats and educate the community on responsible animal care, ultimately reducing the number of stray, abused and unwanted animals.
Chartered in 1934, ADL is a non-profit humane society advocating the non-euthanasia of healthy animals and providing shelter and care for dogs and cats. The League is committed to the welfare of animals, enhancing the quality of life for orphaned animals by finding the best possible home for each pet. Supported by voluntary contributions, the League provides programs and services which strengthen the bond between animals and people.
The mission of the Spay Neuter Assistance Program is to prevent the suffering and death of cats and dogs due to overpopulation, especially in low-income areas and to create a world where there are no homeless dogs and cats by designing, delivering, promoting, and advancing community-based animal sterilization services.
Sea World of Texas and Animal Care Services have teamed up to promote pet adoptions with the Happy Tails program. All adopters who get their new pet at ACS, the Animal Defense League or the San Antonio Humane Society will receive two free tickets to Sea World. The program has been extended through December 31st, 2011!
