The
Development Program seeks to encourage unique and collaborative
programming initiatives among San Antonio's arts and cultural
providers. By researching, evaluating and accessing common
art and culture trends, the Development Program assists
organizations in the development and implementation of collective
programs and identifies external financial sources to enhance
their funding levels.
2002
Arts Programming Survey Results
The Office of
Cultural Affairs recently conducted a survey of San
Antonio's arts an cultural organizations' programming levels
and challenges. 67 organizations responded to the Arts
Programming Survey, giving OCA a description of the
environment in which organizations are operating. The Arts
Programming Survey's objectives were to determine an
organization’s:
- Current and
desired programming levels, including funding sources
and program priorities
- Obstacles
inhibiting new program development and successful
fundraising
- Use of
city-owned facilities for office space, performances and
exhibitions
- Need for
technical and management training/assistance programs
The survey was
conducted and results reported by Ava J. Lambert, OCA Arts
Program Coordinator. The results were independently analyzed
by Dr. R. Michael Flores, Dean of Institutional Advancement,
Effectiveness & Community Development at Palo Alto
College, San Antonio, TX.
