TXDOT Recognizes Stinson as Reliever Airport of the Year 2009

Stinson Municipal Airport is the second oldest general aviation airport in continuous operation in the United States. As the primary reliever for general aviation traffic in San Antonio, Stinson is extremely appealing to operators of light aircraft, individuals, and private aviation companies.

Conveniently located only 6 miles south of downtown San Antonio's central business district and the River walk and only 4 miles from new Toyota Assembly Plant. Stinson Airport is the perfect designation for general aviation and the corporate traveler. Convenient access to all of San Antonio's major highways (Interstate Highway Loop 410, Interstate Highway 37, Interstate Highway 35, and Interstate Highway 10 ) puts the majority of industrial and business centers within minutes of the airport. Being close to downtown and easily accessible to many amenities also make Stinson Airport the airport to reach the area's convention centers, major attractions, and theme parks
