Brush Item Collection

Having a great lawn takes a lot of work. But what do you do with all the yard waste after you are done? San Antonio residents receive two (2) curbside brush collections per year, approximately every six months.

Accepted Material

  • Shrubs
  • Tree Branches
  • Woody Vines
  • Other herbaceous & woody plants

Not Accepted Material

  • Bulky household items
  • Bagged leaves
  • Construction/remodeling materials (bricks, sheet rock, insulation, flooring)
  • Grass clippings
  • Hazardous materials (e.g., paints, solvents, motor oil)
  • Household trash
  • Lumber or their fragments
  • Shingles, roofing materials
  • Soil, concrete, and rocks

Limitations

Please limit your brush pile to eight (8) cubic yards. Image of 8 cu yd pile.

Violations

Residents will be in violation of the City Municipal Code, Ch.14 for any of the following reasons:

  • Brush pile not within eight (8) feet from the curb
  • Brush pile contains non-brush materials
  • Pile is obstructed by low hanging limbs or others obstacles

If your pile is in violation of City Code, you may receive a fine up to $2,000 a day, plus be billed for the collection and disposal of these items.
