Dial-A-Trailer for
your
neighborhood cleanup projects
Dial-A-Trailer is
a joint program of the City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department
and Keep San Antonio Beautiful that allows neighborhood
associations and non-profit groups the opportunity to hold large cleanup
events for their residents or members. Participants can dispose of brush
and large, bulky items not collected during twice-weekly trash pickup.
Help keep San Antonio a clean community. If your organization would
like to request a Dial-A-Trailer, call 311.
When your organization requests this service, a garbage trailer or
brush trailer will be stationed at a designated site on a designated
Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Seven Dial-A-Trailers are currently available per Saturday. In an
effort to better serve more organizations, only one trailer per clean-up
will be dispatched. Flexibility is required when scheduling a trailer,
as desired dates may already be committed. Please consider three
preferred Saturday dates when requesting a trailer. Organizations are
limited to four Dial-A-Trailer events per fiscal year. Events may not be
scheduled on consecutive Saturdays. Only requests within the San
Antonio city limits can be served.
Participants can use Dial-A-Trailer events to dispose of the
following items: appliances, furniture, tree limbs and shrubs,
mattresses, tires, lumber, auto parts and water heaters. We recycle
clean brush, metals and tires. Participants are encouraged to separate
these materials.
The following materials will not be collected through Dial-A-Trailer
events: liquids, chemicals, pesticides, oil, concrete, bricks, soil,
sod, commercial and industrial wastes, and demolition/remodeling
materials such as sheetrock, roofing shingles.
Dial-A-Trailers are to be used for items collected
during neighborhood clean-ups only. The City will, at its discretion,
determine the type of equipment assigned to each Dial-A-Trailer event.
Individual homeowners are encouraged to take advantage of the two
brush and bulky item collections provided annually by the City. If you
require curbside pickup between these collection cycles, the
Solid Waste Management Department makes House
Calls, an out-of-cycle collection service that is available at a fee based on the size
of the load collected.
