The Vertical Division is managed by the City Architect's office (CAO). The CAO supervises the
architectural design and construction of
facilities for the City of San Antonio, such as major downtown projects, fire and police stations,
libraries, parks and community facilities. Furthermore, CAO provides support to many City departments
in facility master planning and implementing their programs and space needs.
