The Office of the City Clerk Archives Program is located at the Municipal Archives & Records Facility.
The Archives Program began in 2005 in partnership with the San Antonio Public Library’s
Texana/Genealogy department and the
San Antonio Public Library Foundation. The program aims
to appropriately house, organize, and make available for research the history of the City of San Antonio.
The Archives Program has been funded by a grant from the
National Historical Publications and Records Commission. The goal of the NHPRC is to promote the preservation
and use of America's documentary heritage essential to understanding our democracy, history, and culture.
To that end, the Commission supports projects around the country through grant funding.
