Mrs. Rodriguez is a native San Antonian, a graduate of the University of North Texas Certified Municipal Clerks Program and earned an Associates Degree in Public Administration from San Antonio College. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake High School. Ms. Rodriguez is married to Arthur S. Rodriguez, and has two sons, Michael and A.J.Rodriguez, and three grandchildren, Alexandra, Arthur John and Isabella Carolina. Some of Ms. Rodriguez' achievements include receiving $200,000 in state and federal grants for the binding of the historic Council Minutes. With her oversight, she developed an in-house plan with records retention. Ms. Rodriguez also secured and hosted the successful 56th Annual Conference of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in San Antonio in May 2002 with 1,800 attendees, including delegates from 15 foreign countries. As President of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Ms. Rodriguez was responsible for the re-structuring of its Committee functions. During her tenure, Norma was primarily responsible for the National Municipal Clerks Association of Portugal becoming an affiliated member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. Ms. Rodriguez has remained active by serving as a member of the Mayor's Ad Hoc Committee for the Main Plaza Redevelopment. She has also served as a member of the City/County Integration Committee (County Appointee). |
