Applications sought for City Boards and Commissions

San Antonio residents are encouraged to get involved in their local government by serving on a City board or commission.

Applications are being sought for seats on a variety of At Large and District Boards and Commissions. Citizens who wish to apply for these seats may obtain an application from the Office of the City Clerk, located on the second floor of City Hall, or on the City’s website at www.sanantonio.gov/clerk.

City Council will nominate representatives from those applications received and conduct interviews on Wednesday, May 17, at 3:00 p.m. to fill positions on the following At Large boards:

  • CONVENTION AND VISITORS COMMISSION – 10 slots, Categories: (3) Hotel/Motel Association; (1) S.A. Tourism Council; (1) Theme Parks; (1) General Community – South East Sector; (1) General Community – South West Sector; (1) General Community – Northwest Sector; (1) General Community – North East Sector; (1) Arts & Cultural Community
  • WATERSHED IMPROVEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE – 5 slots, No Categories
  • SOUTH FORT SAM HOUSTON DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD – 8 slots; Categories: (2) Government Hill Alliance; (2) City Wide Community Leader; (2) San Antonio Development Agency Representatives; (1) Business Category; (1) Ft. Sam Houston Representative
  • BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT – 4 slots, Category: Alternate Members
  • NOISE ABATEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE – 4 slots, Categories: (3) Neighborhood Association; (1) Chamber of Commerce Rep.
  • AIR TRANSPORATION ADVISORY COMMISSION – 6 slots, Categories: (3) Community Representative; (2) Travel & Tourism Industry; (1) Business Category

The deadline to submit applications for the At Large boards is Friday, May 5.

Applications are also being accepted for positions on the following District boards (there is no deadline to submit applications):

  • DISABILITY ACCESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Districts 4
  • HOUSING TRUST FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES: Districts 1, 3, 4, 5 & 6
  • ELECTRICAL EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING BOARD: Districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 & Mayoral
  • SOUTH TEXAS BUSINESS FUND: Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 & Mayoral

  • AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Districts 3, 4, 6, 7, 9 & Mayoral
