Applications available for Citizen Advisory Action Board

Applications are now being accepted for individuals interested in serving on the Citizen Advisory Action Board (CAAB).

The CAAB reports to the Police Chief after hearing complaints filed against police officers. The complaints only apply to non-criminal investigations of misconduct by police officers that could result in disciplinary action. Meetings are held twice a month on Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. The duration of each meeting is usually three to five hours. In addition, preparation time for these meetings could take up to two to four hours to review pertinent case material.

Applications must be received by the Office of the City Clerk by December 8. CAAB nominees will be interviewed by the Mayor and City Council on January 17, 2007.
