City taking applications for vacancies on the Empowerment Zone Governance Board

The City of San Antonio is seeking applications for individuals interested in filling vacancies on the Empowerment Zone Governance Board (EZGB).

The purpose of the EZGB is to assist and advise City Council and City staff in the implementation of the San Antonio Empowerment Zone (EZ) Strategic Plan. The EZGB assists and advises on: outreach to businesses, residents, tax and real estate professionals, recommendations to City Council on Empowerment Zone Facility Bond projects, and how City staff leverage federal tax incentives to maximize the Empowerment Zone designation through December 2009.

Currently, applications are being sought for: Fredericksburg Road Corridor developable site representative; Port of San Antonio /Toyota developable site representative; Large Business in EZ representative, Financial Institution Representative and Key Stakeholder representative.

Citizens who wish to apply for the vacant categories may obtain an application from the Office of the City Clerk or on the City's website at Completed applications must be received in the City’s Clerk’s Office by September 28 at 4:30 p.m.
