Small Business Advocacy Committee Seeking Applicants

Applicants are being sought for the Small Business Advocacy Committee. The Committee is comprised of 11 members appointed by the City Council and there are currently four vacancies (Districts 1, 5, 8 and Mayoral). The committee, supported by staff in the City’s Economic Development Department, functions as an advisory group by assisting the City Manager and City Council in reviewing the continuing programs of contractors and subcontractors concerning small, minority and women’s business participation.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Frost Bank Building, 100 W. Houston St., 19th floor Board Room (some variation in times or additional meetings occur for special presentations or topics). Meeting duration is approximately one to two hours. Special meetings are called as needed.

Citizens may obtain an application by visiting www.sanantonio.gov/clerk and selecting “Boards and Commissions,” and then selecting “Vacancies on Boards and Commissions.”
